Queala Panchayat demands immediate decision about rehabilitation of Kashmiri Hindus

The Grampanchayat of Queala in Ponda taluka has passed a resolution to demand the rehabilitation of the displaced Kashmiri Hindus with honour. A copy of this resolution is going to be sent to the Central Government. Similar resolution had already been passed by the Virnoda Panchayat in Pernem taluka before.

The resolution passed by the Kavlem Panchayat states that, thousands of Kashmiri Hindus have been massacred in Kashmir and lacs of Hindus have run away from Kashmir since the year 1990. These displaced Kashmiris are living in tents in a very pitiable condition in the country for the past 2 decades. It is very unjust for any citizen of this country to live as a displaced person for more than 2 decades. It is the need of the hour that Kashmiri Hindus should be rehabilitated in Kashmir with honour. The Central Government should take immediate decision concerning the displaced Kashmiri Hindus. This resolution was proposed by Mrs. Usha Naik and supported by Mrs. Sattvashil Naik. This resolution was passed unanimously. Since last few months, in view of the said demand, Hindu organisations all over Bharat have commenced a movement ‘Ek Bharat Abhiyan – Kashmir ki Oar.  Awareness is being created in the state of Goa through various means like conducting public meetings, small meetings etc.
