Mapusa (Goa) : The root cause of Kashmir problem is in Islam. Kashmiri Hindus are a big obstacle in ‘Islamization’ of Kashmir; therefore, they are killed; but nobody raised voice out of fear of Hindu – Muslim communal rift. All intellectual MPs remained quiet. In 1991, Balasaheb Thackeray arranged for Kashmiri Hindus’ stay in Maharashtra. Creation of ‘Panun Kashmir’ is necessary for rehabilitation of Kashmiri Hindus and ‘Hindutva’. The above frank opinion was expressed by Shri. Rahul Razdan, a leader of displaced Kashmiri Hindus.

In the background of election of patriotic Government in the country, ‘Bharat Raksha Manch’, Hindu Janajagruti Samiti (HJS) and other pro-Hindu organizations have undertaken a nation-wide movement called ‘Ek Bharat Abhiyan – Kashmir ki Ouur’. Under this movement, a rally was organized at Shri Dev Bodageshwar Mandir Hall on 2nd October at Mapusa. The other dignitaries attending the meeting were Shri. Chetan Rajhans, spokesperson of Sanatan Sanstha, Shri. Shivaprasad Joshi, the President of ‘Hindu Mahasabha’ for Goa and Shri. Manoj Khadye, HJS Coordinator for western Maharashtra. The rally was attended by more than 600 patriotic and devout citizens.

Shri. Rahul Razdan said further, “Kashmiri Hindus have been struggling for the past 26 years for their demand of ‘Panun Kashmir’. The Government and few Hindus have forgotten their resolve of creation of ‘Panun Kashmir’ and instead of trying to improve conditions, Kashmiri Hindus were sent to Kashmir extending them aid of few lakhs of rupees; but in last 8 years, only one Kashmiri Hindu has gone back to Kashmir. In past 7 decades, not a single Kashmiri Hindu has become Chief Minister of the State. Kashmir Government has always treated Kashmiri Hindus as secondary citizens; even the laws are passed in such way. Kashmiri Hindus are driven out of Kashmir and denied citizenship. Kashmiri Hindus, therefore, demand that to create feeling of security amongst Hindus in Kashmir; for Kashmiri Hindus to lead respectful life and to avoid Kashmiri Hindus’ exodus from Kashmir, ‘Panun Kashmir’ a union territory should be created for Hindus in Kashmir and it is the need of the hour.”

The rally was started with blowing of conch and lighting of lamp by the dignitaries. Shri. Jayesh Thali of HJS presented a report on various activities undertaken by HJS and explained the purpose of holding such rally. A film made by ‘Panun Kashmir’ on Kashmir problems was also screened during the rally. Shri. Chetan Rajhans, spokesperson of Sanatan Sanstha, Shri. Shivaprasad Joshi, the President of Hindu Mahasabha’, Goa and Shri. Manoj Khadye, Coordinator of HJS for western Maharashtra also addressed the rally which was compeered by Shri. Rahul Vaze and Kum. Aruni Gadekar.

Highlights : Two minutes of silence was observed and name of Shri Gurudev Datta was chanted to pay homage to 18 soldiers who sacrificed their life in terrorist attack at Uri.
