Pimpri-Chinchwad : Devotees immersed Shri Ganesh idols in flowing water; Little response for artificial tanks

Pimpri : Members of Hindu Janjagruti Samiti guided the devotees at Moraya Gosavi Ghat, Kakde Park Ghat, Ravet Ghat, Sangvi Ghat, Aundh Ghat regarding science of immersing Ganesh idols in flowing water by displaying boards, pamphlets, announcement on loudspeakers, and appealed them to immerse the idols in flowing water. With a spontaneous positive response devotees immersed the Ganesh idol in flowing water. While immersion of idols in artificial tank was very low. Shri Ganesh idols were immersed in flowing water after 10.00 p. m. also.

Inconvenience at Thergaon Ghat in Chinchvad

Devotees had to face lot of inconvenience for immersing Shri Ganesh idols since river was dry at Thergaon ghat in Chinchvad. Hence the devotees had to immerse idols in artificial tanks. (Anti-religious act of Pimpri-Chinchvad Municipal Administration – Editor) Campaign for idol-donation was not observed on any other ghat. (Success of Hindu Janjagruti Samiti ! For this success let us express our gratitude at the feet of Shrikrushna ! – Editor). Water in the artificial tanks at Thergaon ghat was poured in the river on 10th September afternoon. Few angry devotees and local Municipal member expressed their dis-satisfaction over this improper act. The steps going towards the ghat were unsafe. Since no arrangement for stale-flowers (Nirmalya) was made, the same was dumped in garbage drums.

There was traffic-jam in the vicinity of Thergaon ghat. There were many volunteers wearing T-Shirts bearing ‘Maharashtra Police under joint auspices of Pune Police and Tata Motors’, who were helping to place Shri Ganesh idols in the truck. Devotees were discussing amongst themself as to what is the purpose and work of these volunteers ?

Highlights

1. On behalf of Nana Kate Foundation, Shri Ganesh idols immersed in artificial tanks were taken out and again immersed in clean river water.

2. No Security Guards were seen at Rahatni ghat, while no security barricades at Moraya Gosavi ghat.

3. Idols in artificial tanks at Vakad were floating on water.

4. On Kakde Park ghat. the so called Environmentalists while debating with HJS members called Police, whereupon 10 policemen came. Later after hearing to what Samiti members have to say, allowed them to guide and left the place.

5. One of the devotees after reading the board made inquiries about Sanatan and commented, ‘He is proud of Sanatan’
