Workers of Town Council immersing Shri Ganesh idols in incorrect manner in the dirty water of trench

Kurundwad (Dist. Kolhapur): On 10th September, a woman activist of a political party was collecting idols from devotees. It was brought to the notice of local chief of that party by Dr. Umesh Lambe, a volunteer of Hindu Janajagruti Samiti (HJS). The local party-chief said that he was not aware of any such thing. By the time, the Chief tried to call up the lady activist, she had left.

After the lady-activist left, workers of Town Council immersed the collected idols in a trench with very dirty water. Dr. Lambe contacted the Chief Officer but he said that nothing could be done at the last moment although a representation was submitted 4 days back by Dr. Umesh Lambe, Sou. Smita Kanade, Shri. Kumar Mali and Shri. Sunil Salunkhe for the demand that immersion of Shri Ganesh idols should be done in flowing water, instead of donation of idols.
