Awareness drive by Sanatan Sanstha and HJS for immersion of Shri Ganesh idols as per science !

Sangli : Sanatan Sanstha and Hindu Janajagruti Samiti (HJS) jointly undertook a drive at places like Sangli, Udgaon and Kurundwad (Dist Kolhapur), creating awareness amongst devotees to immerse Shri Ganesh idols only in flowing water. Volunteers of these organizations were standing at the river bank, holding boards in their hands on which matter explaining science behind immersion was written. Shri. Sanjay Ghatge, Shri. Annasaheb Ghatge, Shri. Ashok Kengar, Shri. Pradip Kulkarni and Shri. Vinayak Shengade were present at Udgaon. Udgaon Gram Panchayat and Green Youth Club jointly undertook a drive for donation of idols. Under this drive, idols were immersed by putting them in a ditch; dug at some distance from the river. 95% devotees were, however, inclined towards immersion of idols, instead of donation. Many devotees appreciated the drive undertaken by Sanatan and HJS and the information given through boards.

Devotees give positive response to idol immersion at Sangli !

Devotees gave spontaneous response to immersion of Shri Ganesh idols. They were also explained about immersion of flowers etc (nirmalya) offered to the Deity; along with immersion of idol. Employees of Municipal Corporation had argument with volunteers of HJS over immersion of ‘nirmalya’. A ‘Hindutvavadi’ activist was also present there who supported HJS drive. Another person, despite being a non-Hindu, commended awareness created by HJS.

Malkapur (Dist. Kolhapur) : Devotees immersed ‘nirmalya’ in river water instead of throwing it in municipality’s vans; owing to awareness created by Sanatan Sanstha and HJS.
