Demands related to immersion ghats will be fulfilled within 24 hours ! – Kunal Kumar, PMC Commissioner

Why it was not done earlier ? Why do Hindus have to make such demands ?

‘Hindutvavadis’ submitting representation to PMC Commissioner

Pune: Instructions will be given for fixing safety railings, electric bulbs at all ghats, for repairing of roads going to ghats, for body guards to serve at every ghat for devotees’ protection and PMC employees will not pressurize devotees for immersion of idols in artificial water tanks. All the things mentioned above will be completed within 24 hours, was the promise given by PMC Commissioner Kunal Kumar to a delegation of ‘Hindutvavadis’.

Advocate Devadas Shinde, advocate Chandrakant Bhosale, Shri. Shailendra Dixit, Shri. Sunil Ghanavat, the State Coordinator of Hindu Janajagruti Samiti (HJS) and Shri. Parag Gokhale were present on the occasion. A representation was submitted on behalf of HJS against mismanagement at various ghats used for immersion of idols. PMC Commissioner immediately contacted Kasba Peth regional officer Khillare and Suresh Jagtap of Solid waste Department for completing the above mentioned jobs within 24 hours and report the same to him in writing on completion.

It was brought to the notice of Kunal Kumar by ‘Hindutvavadis’ that instructions were written on artificial water tanks as ‘Use only water tanks for immersion’; so immersion in artificial water tanks seems to be made compulsory. On that Kunal Kumar promised to remove the word ‘only’ from such instructions.
