Police enquiry of HJS ‘National Security Meet’ in Ratnagiri district

Ratnagiri: On the eve of 15th August in order that the national prides in the citizens increase, ‘Hindu Janajagruti Samiti’ (HJS) had organized five National Security meets in the district. The invitation boards of this programme were put up at different places. Within half an hour of display of these boards, one of the police officers went to the chief organizer to enquire about one of the programs. The police asked him the following questions.

1. What is objective in holding this meet now only?
2. Which organizations are invited for this meet?
3. Why did you not take permission for the meet? (At which the chief organizer replied that ?This programme is in closed auditorium. So also at present there are no prohibitory orders enforced. Hence the question of asking for permission does not arise?.)
4. Approximately how many people will come for the meet?
5. Who are the speakers for the meet? To which organizations do they belong? What are their full addresses?
6. In how many more places in the district are meets going to take place?
7. Will I get the invitation card?
8. Why do you not think that in this time you will aggravate the situation by organizing such meet?
9. What are the subjects going to be discussed in the meet? What is your next line of action?

The Police officer told the chief organizer that ?Do not worry. We have ‘orders’ from top .So we are doing this. So also if you do not do this then there will not be problem for us or for you.

(In a war like situation in the country due to continuous terrorist attacks, when somebody comes forward to do something for the country, the police machinery trying to pull them back by making such statements, is antinational only! -Editor)
