Ideal Lord Ganesh idol immersion procession by HJS and Sanatan Sanstha

Mumbai: For the past 6 years, Hindu Janajagruti Samiti and Sanatan Sanstha are jointly carrying out a campaign for creating awareness among people about the ideal manner of celebrating Ganesh festival. As a part of this campaign, not only they explain to Ganesh Mandals on how to take out immersion procession but also to demonstrate to people, they organize such procession.

This year too, a procession was organized at Girgaum Chowpatty. The procession was taken out by the Samiti to educate people on malpractice’s in immersion processions resulting in losing on the main purpose of the festival and to show them how an ideal procession should be. In this procession, the ‘sattvik’ Ganesh idol sculpted as per the guidance of Sanatan was kept on display. The members of HJS and Sanatan Sanstha were holding banners to educate people. The procession was taken put in a very peaceful manner chanting Lord Ganesh’s name.

Pamphlets on the topic and special issue on Lord Ganesh were distributed during the procession. Also an appeal was being made to people on loudspeakers to behave properly. There was a positive response from the members of the crowd to this procession.
