Only the small size Ganesh idols be immersed – Collector of Satara

Subrao Patil, the District Collector of Satara, a follower of CEBF says that
only the Ganesh idols which are small in size, be immersed. The idol of Sri Ganesh is to be donated or immersed is a personal matter. The Committee for Eradication of Blind Faith (CEBF) and some environmentalist organizations are trying to propogate donation of the idols.

In this context, Shri. Subrao Patil, the District Collector has advised that only the idols of Sri Ganesh that are small in size should be immersed. He has thus indirectly supported CEBF’s campaign. A meeting of the ‘Peace Committee’ was organized at the ‘Alankar hall’ at Police Recreation Centre which was attended by a few MLAs and officials from Government Administration and the Police Department. Shri Narendra Patil, the District Chief of Shiv Sena said that members of CEBF present at the venue of
immersion create obstacles in immersion of the idols. Therefore, they hould not be allowed at the place of immersion. If CEBF wants to create awareness among Ganesh-devotees, their members can do it through out the year; but they should not carry out such activities at the last moment, just for the sake of publicity.

In the meeting Shri. Subrao Patil also narrated a joke making mockery of
Ganapati. The joke was appreciated by the participants.
