Mumbai : Discussions were held on the Sahyadri TV channel on the topic ‘Public Celebration of Ganesh Festival � Manner and social obligations’. Representatives of Ganesh Committees and the Coordination Committees for public celebration of Ganesh festival as also eminent personalities took part in the discussions. Most of the participants, about 99%, were of the view that the funds collected on the occasion should utilized towards social cause. Shri. Ramesh Shinde, the spokesperson of HJS for the State of Maharashtra however, argued that as the funds were collected for a religious festival, its utilization should be for the restoration of temples, their maintenance and for Dharma-prasar. It was also generally agreed that there should not be wastage of money.
