Kurukshetra : In one of the unique festivals celebrated in India, Bhagavad Gita Mahotsav 2015 will be celebrated at Kurukshetra in Haryana on December 21.

It will coincide with ‘Gita Jayanti Mahotsava’, which is to be celebrated by the Haryana government from December 19 to 21.

A visit to Kurukshetra during the festival, which commemorates the birth of one of India’s most revered holy texts, the Bhagavad Gita, is a spiritual experience.

The festival is very sacred to Hindus and is celebrated with immense religious fervour and dedication.

Kurukshetra is the land where celestial song ‘Bhagavad Gita’ is believed to have been delivered by Lord Krishna to Arjuna. The place also holds significance as the famous sage Manu wrote Manusmriti here. The Rig Veda and the Sama Veda were also composed here. Apart from Lord Krishna, the land was visited by divine personalities like Gautama Buddha and eminent Sikh Gurus.
