Drive for prevention of denigration of Deities and revolutionaries taking place thro’ crackers

Pune : Pune District Collector, Shri. Saurabh Rao promised that necessary instruction would be given to the concerned departments in districts, on prevention of denigration of Deities and revolutionaries occurring through crackers. He also promised to see if restrictions could be imposed through Directorate of Industries at State-level on sale of such crackers; besides contacting Tamil Nadu Government through State Government for ban where such crackers are manufactured. Representation was submitted to Shri. Rao and Police Commissioner Shri. Kaushal Pathak on behalf of Hindu Janajagruti Samiti (HJS) demanding prevention of denigration of Deities and national leaders taking place through crackers. Police Commissioner Pathak promised that instructions would be given to police stations for preventing denigration through crackers.

  1. HJS submitted similar representation to senior Police Inspector Shri. Vishwambhar Golde of Paud police station. He said, “Condition will be stipulated in permission letter issued to vendors for sale of crackers while erecting stalls that they would not keep on sale crackers with pictures of Deities and national leaders.”
  2. Shri. Golde has invited HJS activists to explain about denigration to cracker-sellers during a meeting proposed to be held with police.
  3. Representation was also submitted to Sarpanch Sou. Lalita Pavale and Dy. Sarpanch Shri. Dnyaneshwar Pavale. They promised to issue handbills and distribute them in every house in their village, explaining the issue.
