People, who are expected to take a holy dip at Pushkar Ghats during forthcoming Godavari Pushkaralu, have to shell out additional 50 per cent of charges. Nonetheless, the RTC is coming with offering online ticket booking system for Godavari Pushkaralu.

After a discussion with government officials, RTC JMD Ramana Rao announced a decision to collect 50% more charges than the existing rates in 530 special buses leaving Hyderabad to all pushkar places. For example, people who spend Rs 100 to reach out to nearby pushkar ghat will now have to spend Rs 50 more. Though this is a bit high, it is common to hike the fares for such big public events, Ramana Rao told reporters at Secretariat here.

Earlier, Ramana Rao held talks with Government Advisor K V Ramana Chary on the arrangements. “We are pressing in 2,270 special buses to traverse about 25 lakh of people, he said. The RTC is making all arrangements of providing bus shelters and stops at four places of Basara, Dharmapuri, Bhadrachalam and Kapileshwaram, he maintained. Besides, internal security in the buses will be stepped up with additional security, he added.
