Silent demonstrations against Anti Hindu Play

On behalf of Hindu Jana-Jagruti Samiti (HJS), silent demonstrations were held against the Marathi play ‘Vastra-haran’ for making mockery of Hindu deities and holy scriptures. The play was to be staged at Atre theatre in Kalyan where the demonstrations were held. In these demonstrations, 40 members of HJS participated with banners through which they tried to create awareness among people on the issue. A prior permission was taken from the Police for holding the demonstrations. But the police did not allow HJS members to explain to the people about the said issue. Police also did not allow members of HJS to keep a board near the entrance as the area in which the play was to be staged was supposed to be very sensitive.
