‘Ram-setu’ issue going against national interest: Thackeray

By Staff Reporter

Mumbai (Maharashtra): Shiv Sena held its usual anniversary meeting at Shivaji Park grounds on Dassera. Shri. Balasaheb Thackeray, the Chief of the Party said in his address that the Government wants to demolish ‘Ram-setu’ for easy passage of American ships; but there is no guarantee that USA will not attack India using this medium. He said further that the elections are round the corner. The Government has declared free electricity to farmers. Sushilkumar Shinde had promised the same thing but did nothing even after 5 years in the office. Condition of farmers and electricity has not changed. This Government has cheated people. They are busy in entertainment programs. Who will keep a check on how much was the rainfall after rice saplings were planted. Nobody is bothered and crops have dried. The Government is rotten. The Congress Government has not done anything for this country.

Regarding Indo-US nuclear deal, Shri. Thackeray said that not a single minister has any knowledge on nuclear deal. There is a capricious partnership between Congress and the Leftists parties in the Central Government, it exists today and it may not be there tomorrow. Both are constantly at loggerheads. They should first concentrate on problems faced by general population of this country. He said that Mumbai will not be separated from Maharashtra. He criticized Narayan Rane and Shri. Chidambaram, the Finance Minister. He said further that Muslims ruled over this country for more than 1500 years, British ruled for 150 years and now there is ‘Madam’ raj. Do we always need a foreigner to be the Ruler of this country? The number of Christian representatives has increased since the Christian lady took over the reins of this country. Why don’t we realize that Bangla Deshi Muslims should not stay in India? We should also check on the loyalty of Muslims in this country, that how many are for India and how many are against.

There were also speeches by other leaders like S/Shri. Ramdas Kadam, Manohar Joshi, Pramod Navalkar and Dr. (Mrs.) Shubha Raul, the Mayor of Mumbai.
