Indians are forgetting their culture: Francois Gautier

Pune (Maharashtra): The organization called ‘An Intelligent Pune Initiative’ had held a seminar on the topic ‘Why should we be proud of being Indian?’ In this seminar, Shri. Francois Goutier, a French journalist expressed his regret that Indians are no longer proud of being Indians. Dr. S. B. Muzumdar, the President of ‘Symbiosis’ Institute was also present for the program.

Shri. Gautier said further that Indian people are not only uncaring about important things that represent their culture as Sanskrit language, Vaastu-shastra, History, joint family concept, Holy Scriptures, Yoga, Pranayaam etc. and has no respect for them. This is due to blind following of Western culture and keeping away from our traditions. In outside countries, children are taught ‘Yoga’. It is unfortunate that in India, people are required to be told what is Yoga. The media has depicted a wrong picture of India before the rest of the world.
