Dharma-prasar by HJS in Lord Ganesha immersion

By Staff Reporter

Thane (Maharashtra): Immersion of Sree Ganesha idols took place with ususal pomp and revelry. Hindu Janajgruti Samiti (HJS) and Sanatan Sanstha used this opportunity for ‘Dharma-prasar’.

Ganesha idols were immersed at Talaopali and Railadevi in Thane so also at Retibunder in Dombivali, Durgadi fort and Ganesh Ghat at Kalyan. First –aid team was made available by Sanatan Sanstha for attending to Ganesha- devotees. An exhibition displaying various products of Sanatan Sanstha was also put up at the venues. HJS members were explaining to people about the ideal way of celebrating Ganesha festival and prevention of malpractices during this time. A signature drive was also undertaken against the anti-Superstitions Act in which 4500 persons signed. Public and individual Ganesha idols were immersed in artificial water tanks at Parasik Retibunder. (As per spiritual science, immersion of idols in running water is more beneficial as the particles charged with Sree Ganesha principle are spread to longer distance. In a way, it is against Dharma to immerse idols in artificial water tanks and it shows the necessity to teach Hindus about their Dharma-shastra – Editor)

At Kalyan, one boy in Lord Shiva’s attire was dancing on the bus moving in immersion procession. Members of HJS spoke to the Ganesh Committee and explained to them about denigration of deity and stopped further denigration.

There was very good response to Sanatan products displayed at exhibitions and stalls.
