Citadel of ANS at Bhor crashes

By Staff Reporter

Pune (Maharashtra): For the last 5 years, Maharashtra Andha-shraddha Nirmulan Samiti (ANS) has been propagating donation of Sree Ganehsa idols in Bhor. For the last 3 years, Hindu Janajagruti Samiti (HJS) has been creating awareness among locals towards the unscientific and anti-Dharma practice of donation of idols. As a result, all Sree Ganesh idols were immersed at Shani Ghat in Rajwada Chowk by various Ganesh festival committees and individuals. This year, members of ANS were not seen anywhere for collection of idols and once known as the citadel of ANS totally crashed.

Members of HJS had gone from door to door, distributing handbills signed by eminent personalities asserting that immersion of idols does not cause pollution. There was very good response received from Ganesh-devotees to the appeal.

Shri. Suresh Shete, Correspondent of newspaper ‘Dainik Pudhari’ and Shri D. J. Sahastrabuddhe, a senior journalist of ‘Dainik Lokmat’ congratulated HJS members for the success. Mrs. Vijaya Dimale, a social worker took initiative in distributing the handbills.
