Mumbai (Maharashtra): Maharashtra Black Magic, Evil and Aghouri Practices Eradication Bill -2005 has been referred to the Joint Reviewing Committee formed by members of both the Legislative Houses. Public opinion on the said Bill was sought by July 30, 2007; but the time has been extended till 30th August. It has been mentioned in the circular issued by Maharashtra Vidhan Mandal Sachivalaya, Vidhan Bhavan, Mumbai that persons who are interested in sending their suggestions/ opinions may send the same in 3 copies (in either Marathi or English language) to Shri. B. N. Kambale, Additional Secretary, Maharashtra Vidhan Mandal Sachivalaya, 9th floor, (Cell No. 903), Vidhan Bhavan, Backbay Reclamation, Mumbai – 400 021 by 5.00 p.m. till 30th August.

Announcement regarding extension of time was made by Shri. Chandrakant Handore in Legislative Council on 30th July 2007 and it took 8 days for the Government to issue the circular.

(Delay of 8 days in issuing circular regarding extension of time in respect of such important Bill indicates that the Government is taking people for granted. – Editor)
