New Delhi – Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy invoked North-South and socio-economic divisions among Hindus while addressing a media conclave in New Delhi. While targeting the BJP, Revanth Reddy drew a distinction between devotees of Shri Ram and Bhagwan Shiva along North-South and socio-economic lines.
Congress Telangana CM Revanth Reddy now creates a divide between Hindu gods in the context of the North-South divide?
Shiva is the God of the poor
Rama is the God of the richWe are devotees of Shiva,
North Indians are devotees of RamaWe are Dravidians,
Northerners…— Megh Updates 🚨™ (@MeghUpdates) September 29, 2026
He said, “We are Dravidians, while they are Aryans. We are devotees of Shiva, while they are devotees of Shri Ram. Shri Ram is the God of the rich, while Bhagwan Shiva is the God of the poor. BJP leaders never raise the slogan ‘Har Har Mahadev’; they only say ‘Jai Shri Ram’ because the BJP is a rich party.”
The Telangana Chief Minister further expressed concern over the delimitation of constituencies, saying that increasing the number of Lok Sabha seats on the basis of population could affect the political representation of the southern States.
- Invoking Prabhu Shri Ram and Bhagwan Shiva to draw North-South, Aryan-Dravidian and rich-poor divisions among Hindus is blatant divisive politics for political gain.
- Such exploitation of Hindu religious sentiments for vote bank politics is highly condemnable.
