Memorandum submitted by Hindu Rashtra Samanvay Samiti and other Hindu organisations to the Union Home Minister demanding urgent safety measures for migrant Hindu workers in Kashmir
Kolhapur, Maharashtra – On 31 July, two Hindu migrant labourers from Chhattisgarh, Deepak and Bhupendra, were brutally murdered in the Kulgam district of Jammu and Kashmir. Targeting citizens on the basis of their names and religious identity is not merely a law-and-order issue, but a direct attack on India’s constitutional values and national integrity. This incident has taken place while memories of the mass murder in Pahalgam a few months ago, where Hindus were identified by asking their name and religion—are still fresh.
Therefore, demanding that the terrorist network in Jammu and Kashmir be completely wiped out and necessary measures be taken for the security of Hindu citizens, a memorandum was submitted to the district administration on behalf of the Hindu Rashtra Samanvaya Samiti. This memorandum, addressed to the Union Home Minister, was accepted by Resident Deputy Collector Gajanan Gurav.
Present on this occasion were Shiv Sena Deputy District Chief Kishor Ghatge, Akhil Bharat Hindu Mahasabha District President Rajendra Toraskar, Spokesperson Sunil Samant, State Organiser Manohar Sorap, Abhijit Patil, Sheelatai Mane from the Women’s Wing, ‘Hindu Jagran’ District Co-convener Vaidya Ashwini Malkar, Hindu Ekta City Chief Gajanan Todkar, ‘Namo Namo’ District President Vikram Jarag, ‘Maharaja Pratishthan’ Founder Niranjan Shinde, ‘Maratha Tituka Melvava’ Working Chief Yogesh Kerkar, Thackeray faction Deputy District Chief Sambhajirao Bhokare, Maharashtra Mandir Mahasangh’s Ashok Gurav, Karveer Taluka Chiefs Krishnat Powar and Raju Yadav, Bajrang Dal’s Anil Dinde, Hindu Rashtra Samanvaya Samiti’s Rambhau Methe, and Hindu Janajagruti Samiti’s Shivanand Swami and Aditya Shastri.
Key demands of the Hindu Rashtra Samanvaya Samiti
- The investigation into this murder must be conducted by the National Investigation Agency (NIA), and strict action should be taken against the culprits under the UAPA and other applicable laws.
- The entire network of TRF, Lashkar-e-Taiba, and all local and foreign elements assisting them must be destroyed.
- Strict action should be taken against all persons providing shelter, funds, weapons, information, or logistics to terrorists, and their properties should be confiscated.
- A special security plan should be implemented immediately for all migrant Hindu labourers, traders, employees, and students working in Jammu and Kashmir.
- Appropriate financial assistance, a government job for one family member, and necessary protection should be provided to the families of the deceased.
