Kolhapur, Maharashtra – Following the state government’s approval of the anti-conversion law, hailed as a historic milestone for Hindutva, Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis was felicitated by the Sakal Hindu Samaj, Kolhapur, along with various other Hindu organisations. The Chief Minister was presented with a formal citation and a garland of champa flowers in appreciation of the decision.
Under the guidance of the Executive Chairman of the State Planning Board and Shiv Sena MLA Rajesh Kshirsagar, and BJP MP Dhananjay Mahadik, Resolution No. 7 regarding the anti-conversion law was passed at the Hindu Dharma Parishad held in Kolhapur. Taking this firm demand of the Hindu community seriously, the government respected Hindu public sentiment by enacting the law prohibiting religious conversions. This ceremony of gratitude and honour was organised against this backdrop.
On this occasion, office-bearers and activists from various Hindutva organisations were present, including the founder of ‘Maharaja Pratishthan’ Niranjan Shinde, the head of ‘Maratha Tituka Melvava’ Yogesh Kerkar, Akhil Bharat Hindu Mahasabha spokesperson Sunil Samant, vice-president Vikas Jadhav, entrepreneur Prasanna Shinde, ‘Hindu Jagran’ co-district convener Dr Ashwini Malkar, Ashok Gurav of the Mandir Mahasangh, and Hindu Janajagruti Samiti co-ordinators Shivanand Swami and Kapil Kadam.
