‘Hindu Ekta Andolan’ demands immediate intervention by the District Superintendent of Police

Sangli, Maharashtra – Hindu families in Bisur village are living in fear due to fanatics arriving from other states and districts at the local mosque. These individuals are harassing Hindus living nearby, making obscene gestures at Hindu women, and using abusive language against Hindu Dharma. Tormented by this continued harassment, 10 Hindu families in the village are reportedly preparing to abandon their homes and migrate.

Harassment of Hindus under the garb of the mosque
Groups of around 20 individuals are arriving at the mosque from outside the village and other states. This has severely disturbed the peace and safety of local Hindus. Local Muslims along with individuals from the Sheikh, Nadaf, and Sayyad communities, and Hafiz visitors from other states, are allegedly playing loud songs on mobile phones, speaking at high volumes inside the mosque, and indulging in provocative behaviour to torment Hindus. These outsiders allegedly make obscene gestures at Hindu women and girls passing by and use highly abusive language against Hindu Dharma.
‘If it bothers you, close your doors and windows’ – Hindus threatened
When the affected Hindu families protested against this behaviour, the fanatics reportedly threatened them, saying, “If it bothers you, close your doors and windows, and sit inside.” Despite repeated complaints to village leaders and politicians, no action has been taken so far.
- The unchecked gathering of fanatic outsiders under the garb of a mosque to harass and terrorise local Hindu families exposes a shameful collapse of law and order in Maharashtra.
- When elected leaders and officials turn a blind eye to such blatant intimidation, Hindu organisations are left with no choice but to step forward and defend their community.
- Strictest action must be taken against the passive authorities who allowed this crisis to escalate.
Investigate the outsiders – Demand of Hindu Ekta Andolan
Taking serious note of the situation, office-bearers of the Hindu Ekta Andolan have demanded immediate intervention by the District Superintendent of Police.
“Who are these suspicious individuals coming to the mosque in Bisur village from other states and districts? A thorough investigation must be conducted immediately. Because of them, a serious law and order situation could arise in the village. The District Superintendent of Police must personally look into the matter, provide protection to the victimised Hindu families, and prevent their migration. “If the police do not take legal action in time, the office-bearers of Hindu Ekta Andolan will suppress that Muslim community in our own style,” warned the State President of Hindu Ekta Andolan and former MLA, Shri. Nitin Shinde.
