  • Attempt to intimidate Hindus through Moharram procession

  • 4 arrested

Ujjain, Madhya Pradesh – A shocking incident occurred during a Moharram procession in Badnagar when a four-wheeled vehicle was deliberately suspended 40 feet in the air using a crane and later blown up. The event, which took place on the night of 23 June has gone viral on social media after a video of the incident surfaced.

In the video, two youths are seen standing atop the suspended vehicle, waving red flags. Moments later, an explosion is triggered, destroying the vehicle. A banner displayed on the four-wheeler carried the provocative message: “Lo phir aa gaye” (Look, we have returned).

The incident has drawn sharp criticism.

Swami Shivanand Giri from Haridwar raised serious objections on social media, stating: “Through this video, a clear message is being sent that ‘this is exactly how we will blow up the vehicles of kafirs (non-believers)’.”

Ritesh Maheshwari of the Hindu Jagran Manch demanded a thorough investigation by the district administration, noting that several objectionable banners were also attached to the vehicle during the procession.

Legal Action Taken

Ujjain’s Additional Superintendent of Police, Karandeep Singh, stated that a case has been registered in this matter against the procession organiser Shoaib Khan, the individuals waving flags on the vehicle, Talim Khan and Zahid Khan, and the crane owner. All four will be arrested very soon.

Editorial Perspective
  • This provocative explosion of a vehicle during the Moharram procession in Ujjain is a brazen act of intimidation by radical elements against Hindus in their own homeland.
  • Such open displays of aggression under the garb of a religious festival expose the growing audacity of fanaticism and the dangerous silence of so-called secular forces.
