Hatkanangale (District Kolhapur), Maharashtra – The government had proposed the controversial ‘Devasthan Inam Abolition Act 2026’. The Maharashtra Mandir Mahasangh brought the adverse effects of this proposed Act to the attention of the government by holding meetings, press conferences, and submitting representations in various places. Due to the awareness raised by the Mandir Mahasangh, trustees, priests, and devotees of temples across the state opposed this Act, submitted representations against it, and registered their objections. Due to the organised efforts of the Maharashtra Mandir Mahasangh, the ‘Devasthan Inam Abolition Act’ had to be stayed, expressed Shri. Ramesh Shinde, the National Spokesperson of the Hindu Janajagruti Samiti. He was speaking during a guidance session held at the Nrusingh Temple.
Shri. Ramesh Shinde further said, “To understand the importance of temple culture, it is necessary for Hindus to gather regularly in temples and hold discussions on Dharma. Look at the way temple culture is being attacked. To counter this, all of us must come together and resist collectively against all of this.”

On this occasion, Prasad Kulkarni and Ashok Gurav of the Mandir Mahasangh; Mahendra Ahire, Santosh Sanagar, and Sadhana Godse of the Hindu Janajagruti Samiti; Dr Shilpa Kothavale of the Sanatan Sanstha; BJP Councillor Pawan Nigave, along with other dignitaries and a large number of temple priests and trustees were present.
