The affected Hindu woman disclosed the details during a press conference. She stated, “While working at the company, immense and systematic mental pressure was exerted on me to embrace Islam and establish physical relations with a Muslim man. I rejected this anti-religious and unethical proposition, and lodged an official complaint with the company administration. However, instead of taking action against the accused, the management unjustly terminated my employment.”
Condemning the incident, Hindu Janajagruti Samiti (HJS) has demanded immediate intervention by Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis. Speaking at the press conference, Shri. Sunil Ghanwat, State Coordinator of HJS for Maharashtra and Chhattisgarh, called for a high-level inquiry and stringent legal action against those responsible.
The press conference, held at Shramik Patrakar Bhavan in Pune, was attended by the victim, along with devout Hindus including, Shri. Parag Gokhale (Pune District Coordinator, HJS), Advocate Vivek Bhosale (Rashtrabhakta Adhivakta Samiti, Pune), Advocate Gopal Telang and Kum, Kranti Petkar (Ranragini wing of HJS).
The incident has raised concerns regarding the safety of Hindu women in the corporate sector and the transparency of internal corporate grievance mechanisms. According to the victim, she was performing her duties diligently when a female colleague, Shahina Rafiq, began interfering in her personal life. She claims that Shahina repeatedly pressured her to develop a relationship with a Muslim man known to her and to renounce Hinduism in favour of Islam. The victim further alleged that she was repeatedly told that embracing Islam and living with a Muslim man would provide her with a luxurious and peaceful life in Dubai. Disturbed by what she described as persistent religious and mental harassment; the victim eventually restricted all communication with Shahina to official work-related matters.
She then formally reported the matter to senior company officials. However, according to her, no disciplinary or preventive action was taken against Shahina Rafiq. Instead, after the victim stopped responding to Shahina’s personal calls, Shahina allegedly recorded conversations without consent and later filed a counter-complaint through the company’s internal processes.

The victim further alleged that certain company officials, including a senior official named Wasim, failed to take action against Shahina and that members of the HR and management team, including Zeeshan Ahmed, imposed disciplinary measures against her while disregarding her complaints and supporting evidence.
According to Advocate Vivek Bhosale, the situation escalated in August 2025 when the victim was invited to a Microsoft Teams meeting by an HR representative. During the meeting, she alleges that control of her laptop was remotely accessed and a resignation was submitted without her informed consent. Advocate Bhosale stated that if these allegations are proven, such actions would raise serious concerns regarding compliance with principles of natural justice and employment law.
Legal notice issued to Wipro management seeking reinstatement and ₹50 lakh compensation
The victim has served a legal notice to Wipro through her counsel. The notice contends that any resignation obtained under coercion is legally invalid and seeks immediate reinstatement with full back wages and continuity of service. The notice also seeks compensation of ₹50 lakh for mental distress and reputational harm;, aformal written apology from the company, and appropriate action against those involved in the incident. The victim has stated that if no satisfactory response is received within 15 days, she intends to pursue civil, criminal, and labour law remedies.
Anti-Hindu harassment in the corporate sector won’t be tolerated
Addressing the media, Shri. Sunil Ghanwat stated that Hindu Janajagruti Samiti would extend full support to the victim in her pursuit of justice. He said that the allegations emerging from a reputed IT company in Pune, following earlier controversies elsewhere, warrant a broader examination of whether similar incidents may be occurring in other organisations too. He urged the government to conduct a comprehensive inquiry into such complaints wherever they arise. Shri. Ghanwat also appealed to any Hindu woman facing religious harassment, discrimination, or pressure to convert to come forward and seek assistance. He requested affected individuals to contact the Hindu Janajagruti Samiti helpline at 7738233333.
