Summer self-defence training camps for youth are essential – Smt. Dnyaneshwari Devkar, Deputy Mayor, Solapur

Solapur, Maharashtra – Under the ‘Har Ghar Yoddha’ campaign by Hindu Janajagruti Samiti, a 10-day Shaurya Prashikshan Shibir (valour training camp) was organised from 25 April to 4 May at Shri Dwarkadhish Temple premises in Jule Solapur.
Participants were trained in various self-defence techniques, including dandasakhali and lathi-kathi.
On this occasion, Deputy Mayor Smt. Dnyaneshwari Devkar stated that such initiatives are highly necessary for youth during summer vacations. She also assured support for organising lectures on the subject of love jihad.
BJP city vice-president Shri. Sanjay Salunkhe assured assistance in such matters, while Shri. Chandrakant Ramanshetti of Hindu Rashtra Samanvay Samiti called for organising similar programmes at multiple locations. Shri. Sanket Pisal of Hindu Janajagruti Samiti also addressed the gathering.
During the concluding ceremony, trainees presented demonstrations, and certificates were distributed by dignitaries. Trustee of Shri Dwarkadhish Temple, Shri. Dattatray Pathak, extended special support for the successful organisation of the camp.

Participants’ experiences
- Shri. Varad Mahesh Kulkarni: Participating in the camp was a satisfying experience. I gained deeper understanding of ‘Hindu’ and ‘Dharma’ and received comprehensive Dharma education.
- Smt. Gauri Shrirang Kulkarni: The name ‘Har Ghar Yoddha’ itself is inspiring. It was a joyful experience to be part of this initiative.
- Kum. Parvati Somnath Kalashetti: The camp was very good. I learned many new things, including techniques of lathi-kathi and dandasakhali.
- Kum. Siddheshwari Jogure: I found the training very useful. We also learned how to perform darshan and offer namaskar properly.
- Shri. Pradeep Ulagadde (Teacher): I enrolled both my children in the camp. Seeing my daughter, who would never even raise her hand, now performing karate strikes brought me great joy. The camp has increased awareness and courage among children.
Special highlights
- Smt. Gauri Shrirang Kulkarni, a Sanskrit teacher, participated enthusiastically wearing a traditional nauvari saree.
- Some trainees expressed willingness to further train others after learning the techniques.
Around 4–5 teachers from schools and tuition classes also participated in the camp.

A youth-focused self-defence training initiative

Pachal (Ratnagiri), Maharashtra – The self-defence training initiative launched by the Hindu Janajagruti Samiti is receiving an enthusiastic response from youth across the district.
Addressing participants on the third day of the 10-day ‘Har Ghar Yoddha’ campaign, Shri. Shrikrishna Narkar emphasized that the skills learned in self-defence training should extend beyond personal safety. He stated that such training should also be used for the protection of Deity, Nation, and Dharma.
The programme was conducted at the residence of Shri. Ashok Shetye in Raipatan.
Shri. Narkar further highlighted that individuals owe a deep sense of responsibility toward Deity, Nation, and Dharma, and it is their duty to contribute toward their protection and preservation. In the current challenging times, he stressed the importance of collective effort, adding that such training plays a meaningful role in strengthening this commitment.
He also expressed confidence that through the resolve and guidance of saints, a Hindu Rashtra, aimed at addressing the issues faced by Hindus, will eventually be established, leading to the upliftment of society.
Participants in the training programme shared positive feedback, stating that they are benefiting significantly from the sessions.
