It is striking that many Kashmiris have mobilised massive donations of gold, cash, and valuables for Iran, yet showed no comparable support when India fought Pakistan-backed terrorism during Operation Sindoor. This selective empathy raises serious questions about misplaced priorities and their true allegiances. – Editor, HJS

Srinagar – Last week, India sent medical aid to war-affected Iran. Now, Muslims from Kashmir have also begun extending assistance to Iran. They have sent cash, gold and household items as aid. A widowed Muslim woman expressed her willingness to donate her gold jewellery to Iran. The Iranian Embassy in India shared a video of this woman on ‘X’. Notably, the jewellery had been given to her by her husband and holds deep emotional value. Even after her husband’s death 28 years ago, she had preserved it carefully. The Iranian Embassy expressed its gratitude to the woman and Indian citizens, stating, “Your tears and noble sentiments are a source of inspiration for us.”

In Budgam, where the population of Shia Muslims is higher, the volume of aid sent to Iran has increased. In several places, stalls have been set up to collect assistance for Iran. Citizens are donating cash, jewellery and other items. Women, men and even young children are coming forward to contribute. Children have also donated their savings.
While Kashmiri Hindus remain displaced from their ancestral homes; their properties seized and their return blocked – Kashmiri Muslims are busy donating gold and resources to Iran. 🇮🇷💰
