
Akola, Maharashtra – On the occasion of 26 January, Republic Day, the Hindu Janajagruti Samiti organised a series of programmes across Akola district with the objective of awakening patriotism, strengthening national consciousness, and addressing pressing social needs. Through self-defence awareness initiatives and revolutionary exhibitions, HJS reached students, youth, and citizens from different parts of the district.
Exhibition on revolutionaries and ‘Sampurna Vande Mataram’ programme in Murtizapur

As part of Republic Day celebrations, the Hindu Janajagruti Samiti organised a flex exhibition on Bharat’s revolutionaries and the programme ‘Sampurna Vande Mataram’ near Jamkar Industries on Tahsil Road in Murtizapur, Akola. The programme commenced with an auspicious conch blow by Shri. Vedant Mahamune, followed by the ceremonial worship of Bharat Mata’s image by former soldier Pramod Hazare and newly elected corporator Mrs. Shalini Hazare.
The ‘Sampurna Vande Mataram’ programme included the collective rendition of the complete Vande Mataram as composed by Bankim Chandra Chattopadhyay.

The flex exhibition featured informative flex displays highlighting the sacrifice and valour of Bharat’s great revolutionaries such as Bhagat Singh, Rajguru, Sukhdev, and Swatantryaveer Savarkar. A large number of citizens and youth visited the exhibition, with many appreciating the effort taken to present the revolutionary history in an accessible and impactful manner. Expressing his sentiments, Mr. Manish Jamadar, who was present at the programme, stated that an initiative that begins with a sacred conch call and the worship of Bharat Mata naturally awakens deep feelings of patriotism in the hearts of citizens.
The programme was organised by Hindu Janajagruti Samiti volunteers including Mrs. Smita Mahamune, Ms. Akanksha Hazare, Ms. Sakshi Shrirav, Amol Gulhane, Mrs. Snehal Khandel, Dhananjay Khandel, and Swara Kathale.
Exhibition on revolutionaries and Vande Mataram rendition in Akola City

In Akola City, near the Brijlal Biyani Memorial at Madanlal Dhingra Chowk, a flex exhibition on revolutionaries, a book stall featuring holy texts on Nation and Dharma, along with the worship of Bharat Mata, and the collective rendition of the complete Vande Mataram was organised.
Through this exhibition, the fiery and inspiring history of Bharat’s freedom struggle was vividly brought before the eyes of Akola’s citizens. The exhibition enabled the revolutionary thoughts and sacrifices of freedom fighters to reach a wider section of society. Many attendees appreciated the initiative and requested that such exhibitions be organised in other parts of the district as well.
A key highlight of the programme was the presence of dignitaries from various sections of society. Adv. Deepali Janorkar, Adv. Manju Savarkar, and other dignitaries were present at the event. They expressed that such exhibitions help create awareness in society about one’s duties towards the Nation and Dharma.

Several citizens, including auto-rickshaw drivers, participated in the collective rendition of the complete Vande Mataram. Detailed information was shared on how Vande Mataram became a powerful source of inspiration for revolutionaries during the freedom struggle.
The exhibition featured flex displays depicting the sacrifices of revolutionaries such as Vasudev Balwant Phadke, Bhagat Singh, Rajguru, Sukhdev, Veer Savarkar, along with many anonymous revolutionaries. These displays helped revive the memory of their sacrifices and instilled a sense of patriotism among citizens.
Those present at the programme included Yogesh Agrawal, Sanjay Thakur, Prashant Patil, Rajiv Manjulekar, Suraj Bhogewar, Hariom Pande, Pramod Agnihotri, Rajiv Jhalte, Ratna Jhalte, Amol Wankhade, Anandi Wankhade, Shrinaval Kishor Tawari, and others.
Need for self-defence training in today’s times emphasised in Akola City

A programme highlighting the importance of self-defence training was organised at Keshavnagar, Akola, in collaboration with the Gurukul Ganesh Yag Samiti. Addressing the gathering, Mr. Amol Wankhade, Coordinator of the Hindu Janajagruti Samiti, stated that whenever the Nation and Dharma were under attack, our valiant national heroes rose to protect society. Considering the present social challenges, he emphasised the need for courage, preparedness, discipline, and self-defence training in today’s times.
During the programme, volunteers of the Hindu Janajagruti Samiti presented impactful live self-defence demonstrations, which generated enthusiasm and a spirit of confidence among students and parents.

The event, organised by Mr. Yagnesh Joshi and his team, was attended by around 125 students and parents. Following the demonstrations, there was a unanimous demand from attendees for regular self-defence training classes. Mr Chavan Sir announced that a special training camp for students would be organised soon, while teacher Ms Dixit underlined the relevance of self-defence training for ensuring personal safety in the current social environment.
