Pandharpur – With the objective of ensuring the safety of young women, Hindu Janajagruti Samiti organised a self-defence training camp at the girls’ hostel of New Satara College of Engineering and Management, Korti (Pandharpur). Ms. Shivalila Gubyad, a women trainer from the Samiti, provided practical guidance through demonstrations on simple karate techniques, defensive methods to be used during incidents of molestation, and ways to protect oneself using everyday objects.

A large number of young women benefited from the camp. Emphasising the need to strengthen both the mind and physical strength in daily life, the participants were encouraged to draw inspiration from the valour of Rani Lakshmibai and Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj. At the conclusion of the camp, demonstrations of the nunchaku (dand-sakhli) were presented.
The participating young women expressed that the training boosted their confidence. Present on the occasion were Shri Yash Mugadyal of Hindu Janajagruti Samiti, hostel warden Smt. Aditi Kamble, and college faculty members Smita Mali, Vanita Chavan, Pushpanjali Jugal, and Nikita Rajmane.
