Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar – A ‘Shiv-era Self-Defence Training Camp’ organised for youths was successfully conducted from January 4 to 11, 2026, at the ground of Dharmaveer Sambhaji Maharaj High School, CIDCO. At the concluding ceremony, the participants gave impressive demonstrations of various self-defence techniques learned during the training.

The camp was jointly organised by Hindu Janajagruti Samiti, Rashtriya Dharma Raksha Gurukul, and Dharmayoddha Sangh, on the occasion of the birth anniversaries of Veermata Jijamata and Swami Vivekananda. On this occasion, Shri Sharad Patil, chief trainer of the camp and Rashtriya Dharma Raksha Gurukul, was felicitated for his contribution.
Speaking at the valedictory function, Smt. Mohini Kelkar, President of the Indian Machine Tool Manufacturers’ Association, and Dr. Sanjerao Thombre, former Senate member of Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar University, stated that in today’s times it is essential for young men and women to become physically and mentally capable of self-defence.

Addressing the gathering, Ms. Priyanka Lone, Marathwada Coordinator of Hindu Janajagruti Samiti, emphasised that youths should cultivate discipline, values, courage, and nationalistic spirit, and that self-defence should not remain limited to training alone but should become an integral part of daily life through regular practice.

More than 160 youths participated in the eight-day camp. Despite severe cold weather, participants who attended regularly in the mornings and evenings and completed all 12 sessions were awarded certificates at the concluding ceremony. Organisers stated that the initiative enhanced confidence, discipline, and social responsibility among the youths. They also expressed their intention to continue organising such training programmes in the future. The camp concluded on an enthusiastic note amid chants of “Har Har Mahadev.”
