Paris (France) – At the historic Republic Square in the French capital, Paris, a large-scale and impactful protest march was organised against the ongoing genocide of minority Hindus in Bangladesh. The movement was jointly organised by the Bangladesh Hindu Buddhist Christian Unity Council and the Bureau of Human Rights and Justice. Information about the protest was shared by Mr Dipan Mitra, President of the Bureau of Human Rights and Justice and a prominent Hindu leader. On this occasion, thousands of expatriate Bangladeshi Hindus gathered and also sang the national anthem of Bangladesh.

Mr Mitra stated that in Bangladesh, a systematic process is underway to eliminate minorities solely based on their religious identity. The global community cannot remain silent on this grave issue.
Key demands raised through the protest march
- Those responsible for the brutal killings of Dipu Chandra Das, Khokan Das, and Amrit Mondal under false allegations of blasphemy must be given the harshest punishment.
- ISKCON’s Chinmay Krishna Das Prabhu must be released immediately and unconditionally (he has been imprisoned for the past one and a half years).
- The conspiracy to eliminate Hindus from Bangladesh must be stopped immediately.
Atrocities against Hindus over the past one and a half years
On this occasion, the Hindu leaders reported that:
- At least 169 Hindu teachers were forced to resign.
- 187 Hindus were killed.
- 221 Hindu women were raped.
- Thousands of Hindu homes and businesses were attacked, vandalised, and set on fire.
They further stated that attacks on Hindus under the pretext of blasphemy allegations, as well as efforts to take control of Hindu monasteries and temples, have now become a daily occurrence in Bangladesh. This situation points to a serious human rights crisis, making international intervention urgently necessary.
