Shocking display of superstition at Vasai convent school; HJS demands strict action

  • Conversion conspiracy exposed.

  • HJS demands prosecution under Maharashtra Anti-Black Magic Act.

Vasai (Maharashtra) – The Hindu Janajagruti Samiti has strongly condemned a highly objectionable and unscientific enactment staged at Holy Family Convent High School in Vasai (Palghar district). During its ‘sneh sammelan’ programme held on 31 December 2025, an enactment was staged which showed the so-called ‘miracles of Jesus’, including curing of blindness, making the lame walk, and healing incurable diseases.

A video of the event, now circulating widely on social media, exposes the serious nature of this incident and has raised grave concerns regarding the deliberate promotion of superstition among school children.

Hindu Janajagruti Samiti has submitted formal memoranda to the Deputy Commissioner of Police (Vasai–Virar), the Police Inspector of Manikpur Police Station, and the Division-2 DCP, demanding immediate legal action. Copies of the complaint have also been sent to the Hon’ble Chief Minister of Maharashtra, the State Education Minister, and the Palghar District Collector.

HJS representatives Shri. Vilas Nikam, Shri. Prashant Patil, Shri. Atul Mehta, Shri. Sandeep Tulaskar, and Shri. Jamkar were present while submitting the memorandum.

The complaint states that the enactment is a clear violation of Section 3 of the Maharashtra Prevention and Eradication of Human Sacrifice and Other Inhuman, Evil and Aghori Practices and Black Magic Act, 2013, which explicitly prohibits the propagation and glorification of so-called miracles. Such unscientific acts, when staged before impressionable school children, hampers their mental and intellectual development by instilling irrational beliefs. Portraying fake miracles in a school environment creates a false divine image and appears to be a deliberate attempt to emotionally influence students, with the hidden objective of facilitating religious conversions through superstition.

The Hindu Janajagruti Samiti has demanded:

  1. An immediate high-level inquiry into the school administration.
  2. The suspension of the School Principal and the organisers.
  3. The registration of a criminal case (FIR) under the relevant sections of the Black Magic Act.
  4. State-wide guidelines for schools to prevent the promotion of religious superstitions.

Education should be a medium to awaken conscience and scientific temper, not a platform to promote fake miracles and superstitions. This is a divisive conspiracy to brainwash Hindu children and lure them toward conversion. The administration must act swiftly to stop such blatant violations of the law.

Hindu Janajagruti Samiti reiterates that schools are centres of education, not platforms for religious indoctrination through superstition, and calls upon the authorities to take swift and exemplary action to prevent recurrence of such incidents.
