Hindu organisations and patriotic citizens hold protest rallies across India over atrocities on Hindus in Bangladesh

Hindu organisations and patriotic citizens across the country held protests condemning the violence and religious persecution of Hindus in Bangladesh. The protests were triggered by the brutal murder of Hindu youth Dipu Chandra Das and by continuing reports of attacks on Hindu homes, temples, and communities in Bangladesh. Protesters demanded firm diplomatic action and a clear policy response from the Indian government.
New Delhi

New Delhi saw a massive protest near the Bangladesh High Commission in the Chanakyapuri diplomatic area against the lynching and killing of Dipu Chandra Das and the continuing violence against Hindus in Bangladesh. The protest was led by the Vishwa Hindu Parishad, with participation from the Bajrang Dal and RSS. Protesters raised slogans demanding protection for Hindus in Bangladesh and strict action against the perpetrators of violence against Hindus.
Mumbai

In Mumbai, protests were held near the Bangladesh High Commission and near the Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus, condemning the lynching of a Dipu Chandra Das, and the continued violence and religious persecution of Hindus in Bangladesh. The protests which were organised by the Vishwa Hindu Parishad and the Bajrang Dal demanded immediate diplomatic action by the Government of India.
Malvan (Maharashtra)
In Malvan, the Vishwa Hindu Parishad and the Bajrang Dal organised a protest, condemning the continued atrocities on Hindus and the brutal killing of Hindu youth Dipu Chandra Das in Bangladesh.
During the protest, demonstrators raised slogans of “Bharat Mata ki Jai” and “Vande Mataram”, and trampled and burnt the Bangladesh flag, as a mark of protest. A large number of Hindu citizens, along with activists from the Vishwa Hindu Parishad, Bajrang Dal, Shivshambhu Vichar Manch, Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh, Sanatan Sanstha, Swarajya Sanghatana, and other Hindu organisations participated in the protest.
Malegaon (Maharashtra)

In Malegaon, Shivpratishthan Hindustan organised a protest and submitted a memorandum to the Additional District Magistrate. The memorandum stated that the attacks being carried out against Hindus in Bangladesh are condemnable.
The organisation demanded that the Central Government take stringent measures to ensure the safety of Hindus in Bangladesh, facilitate the safe repatriation of Hindus to India through the international border, and press the Bangladesh Government to take strict action against those responsible for the violence.
Ichalkaranji (Maharashtra)

In Ichalkaranji, the Bajrang Dal organised a protest stating that the brutal murder of Dipu Chandra Das constitutes an attack on the entire Hindu society. Protesters demanded that the Government of India immediately expel Islamic extremist Bangladeshi infiltrators from the country and that sedition charges be filed against those providing shelter to such infiltrators.
Siliguri (West Bengal)
Public action by hotel owners

In Siliguri, public anger over the situation in Bangladesh was reflected through a non-protest civic action by the hospitality sector. The Greater Siliguri Hoteliers’ Welfare Association announced that Bangladeshi nationals would not be permitted accommodation in hotels across Siliguri.
The association clarified that even individuals arriving in India on medical visas would not be provided lodging facilities. The decision was taken in view of the situation prevailing in Bangladesh over the past year and as a protest against violence targeting Hindus there, according to the association’s Joint Secretary, Shri. Ujjal Ghosh.
Kolkata (West Bengal)

In Kolkata, activists of Hindu Sanhati, along with members of Bangiya Hindu Jagaran Manch and other pro-Hindu organisations, led a protest rally to the Bangladesh Deputy High Commission office in the Beckbagan area to protest violence against Hindus in Bangladesh and to submit a memorandum demanding protection for Hindus and strict legal action against those responsible for the attacks. The march began near Sealdah station and, after being stopped by police a few hundred metres from the mission, demonstrators blocked AJC Bose Road and staged a sit-in agitation. A delegation was later allowed to meet a senior mission official and hand over the memorandum.
Nepal joins outcry: Large-scale Hindu protest in Janakpurdham

The protests against violence on Hindus in Bangladesh also extended beyond India to neighbouring Nepal, where widespread outrage was witnessed over the continuing atrocities against Hindus in Bangladesh. Hindus and Saints took to the streets in large numbers in Janakpurdham, staging a protest march that began from the Janaki Temple complex in the ancient city of Janakpur.
The protesters demanded justice for Dipu Chandra Das, describing his killing as inhuman and a crime against humanity committed in the name of religion. They raised slogans demanding an immediate halt to violence against minority Hindus and burnt the Bangladeshi flag during the protest.
The march was organised by the Ramanandiya Vaishnav Sangh. Addressing the gathering, Mahant Ram Roshan Das, successor of the Janaki Temple, stated that the Government of Nepal must exert pressure on Bangladesh by all possible means, adding that no one has the right to take another person’s life.
Common demands raised across locations
Across India and Nepal, protesters raised common demands, including:
- Firm diplomatic pressure on Bangladesh.
- Strict punishment for those responsible for targeted killings and attacks.
- Protection and safe passage to India for Hindus facing violence.
- Clear and decisive policy intervention by the Indian Government
The protestors across the nation asserted that the violence against Hindus in Bangladesh reflects a sustained and systematic pattern of persecution, warning that continued inaction would embolden further attacks.
