Timely first aid is a national and social service: Shri. Bhushan Devrukhkar, HJS

Palghar (Maharashtra): A lecture on ‘The importance of first aid training’ was conducted by Hindu Janajagruti Samiti on 14 December 2025 at Umroli in Palghar district, during the educational tour of the National Kannada Education Society College. Shri Bhushan Devrukhkar addressed the students on this occasion. The program was held with the valuable cooperation of the college principal, Mrs. Neha Tiwari. Professor Mr. Devashish and his colleagues formally welcomed the representatives of Hindu Janajagruti Samiti by presenting bouquets.
Shri Bhushan Devrukhkar stated, “The need for first aid can arise at any time in family and social life. In situations such as heart attacks, burn injuries, accidents, or stampede-like incidents, timely first aid proves to be extremely crucial. Providing first aid during moments of crisis is, in itself, an act of national service and social service. Every citizen of the country should be trained in first aid”.
During the lecture, Shri Devrukhkar also explained the concept and significance of first aid to the students, and emphasised its relevance through practical, day-to-day examples. He provided detailed guidance on handling situations such as nosebleeds, checking the pulse, and administering first aid in cases of unconsciousness. Practical demonstrations were also conducted with active participation of students, enhancing their understanding of basic first-aid procedures.
Awareness regarding the Sunburn festival
On this occasion, Shri. Pandit Chavhan from Hindu Janajagruti Samiti, drew the attention of students to the controversial Sunburn festival proposed to be held in Mumbai. Refering to similar events organised earlier in Goa and Pune, he highlighted reported incidents involving the deaths of youths due to excessive consumption of alcohol and narcotic substances, as well as the arrest of drug traffickers. He stated that such events promote drug abuse among youth and appealed to students to refrain from participating in such programs and to create awareness among their peers.
