HJS strongly condemns Tipu Sultan Jayanti celebrations in Beed school

Hindu Janajagruti Samiti demands strict criminal action against teachers and education officials involved in this anti-national act.

Beed, Maharashtra : Despite Chief Minister and Home Minister Shri. Devendra Fadnavis’ recent warning that “those following Aurangzeb’s ideology will not be spared,” a shocking incident has surfaced from Majalgaon in Beed district, where the birth anniversary of the tyrant Tipu Sultan was celebrated in a Zilla Parishad Primary School. With no Government circular permitting such an observance, the glorification of a ruthless ruler is not only a violation of official norms but also an inexcusable attempt to hurt Hindu sentiments and disturb peace in the State. Hindu Janajagruti Samiti has called for immediate criminal action against the teachers and education officials involved.

Tipu Sultan was not an ideal ruler; he committed brutal acts such as forced religious conversions of Hindus, destruction of temples and the killing of thousands of innocent Hindus. At a time when entire Maharashtra upholds the ideals of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj, glorifying such a cruel figure in a Government-run school amounts to feeding anti-national tendencies by teaching the next generation a distorted version of history. It is essential to investigate whether this incident occurred due to administrative negligence, or whether it is the result of a conspiracy by anti-Hindu forces, especially when it happened despite the clear warning issued by the CM.

In view of the gravity of this anti-national act, Hindu Janajagruti Samiti, has demanded that the teachers, headmaster and responsible officials be booked immediately under relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita for hurting religious sentiments and attempting to create communal discord. It has also sought the prompt suspension of the teachers involved. Failure to take swift and strict action will lead to a strong public agitation.
