Mapusa, Goa : The display of ‘Pakistan Zindabad’ on digital display boards outside two shops — one in Baga and another in Arpora has triggered widespread anger across Goa. Calling it a serious incident, the Hindu Janajagruti Samiti has strongly condemned the act and demanded a probe by the National Investigation Agency (NIA).
Speaking on the incident, North Goa Co-ordinator of the Hindu Janajagruti Samiti, Shri. Govind Chodankar said, “A case should be registered under the National Security Act. The anti-national Pakistan sympathisers responsible for this act must be traced and punished, and the investigation should be handed over to the NIA.”
He further stated, “Two years ago, during an India-Pakistan cricket match, a restaurant owner in Calangute had publicly declared support for Pakistan. Recently, Bangladeshi criminals carried out an armed robbery in Mapusa. A woman named Ayesha, part of Chhangur Baba’s religious conversion racket, was also arrested in Goa. These incidents suggest that Goa is gradually turning into a safe haven for anti-national elements.”

To condemn the incident, the organisation ‘Youth for Bharat’ has organised a ‘Nishedh Sabha’ (protest meeting) at Calangute, on 7th November at 6 p.m. The organisation has appealed to all patriotic citizens to come together and participate in the meeting out of love for the nation. In a video message, the organisation affirmed that such anti-national acts will not be tolerated in Bharat.
The Calangute Panchayat has also taken serious note of the matter, announcing a ban on LED display boards in its jurisdiction. It has further decided to revoke the licence of the Arpora shop that displayed the controversial message.

“Shop was rented,” Says Calangute Sarpanch
Calangute Panchayat Sarpanch Joseph Sequeira said, “We are saddened by the display of ‘Pakistan Zindabad’. We take pride in our nation and will not tolerate such actions.
