Won’t tolerate disrespect of pilgrimages, Deities, Saints, abhang and sacred Vari : Varkaris warn
Pune – Pandharpur Vari has a unique significance in the social, cultural and spiritual life of Maharashtra. Great Varkari Saints like Dnyaneshwar Mauli, Jagadguru Tukaram Maharaj, Eknath Maharaj, Namdev Maharaj, Sopanakaka and others imparted the knowledge to society to reach the highest goal of life through Vari. But recently, some evil tendencies are infiltrating Vari and spreading false propaganda against the Saints’ literature, abhang, religious scriptures and Varkari places of worship. Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Union Home Minister Amit Shah, and Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis have taken a strong stance against urban Naxalism. The liberals working for so-called equality, ANiS, an organization whose activists were caught in Naxal activities, ‘Kabir Kala Manch’ and other pseudo liberals have infiltrated Vari. Urban Naxalism related crimes have been registered against them. The Government and administration should take this matter seriously and take action against them. The Varkari youth will keep an eye on them, but the Government must also interfere in this matter, appealed senior kirtankar Santveer Bandatatya Karadkar, a Varkari Saint, other Varkari Saints, H.B.P. and dignitaries through the press conference held in Pune.

On behalf of all Varkari sects, institutions, organizations and Hindu Janajagruti Samiti, the above demands were made in the press conference organized at Shramik Patrakar Bhawan, Pune. Vaibhav Maharaj More, Sant Sopankaka Palkhi Sohala Dindi Samaj President H.B.P. Ram Maharaj Kadam, State General Secretary of ‘All India Sant Samiti’ Swami Bharatanand Saraswati Maharaj, Konkan Province President of Maharashtra Varkari Mahamandal H.B.P. Bhagwan Maharaj Kokare, Working President of National Varkari Council H.B.P. Stop fake Varkaris who enter and defame Vari : Santveer H.B.P. Bandatatya Karadkar
At present the Varkari sect is the largest sect in Maharashtra. The Varkari sect does not indulge in hatred, contempt or jealousy. The Varkari sect does not pay attention to any criticism. In such a situation, some people are running false propaganda and deceiving Varkaris. We will not tolerate this under any circumstances. The Varkari sect should oppose those who, in this way, secretly impose wrong practices. Regarding our demands, we will wait till Ashadhi. After that we will declare our stance. Although, the Chief Minister has given an assurance that a slaughter house won’t be built, the administration should immediately issue a written order in this regard, only then we shall accept CM’s assurance. Government must stop fake Varkaris entering and defaming the sacred Varkari sect.
Stop pollution of the holy Indrayani and Chandrabhaga rivers : Sunil Ghanwat
The Government should stop the pollution of holy Indrayani-Chandrabhaga rivers and stop the sale of liquor and meat within the pilgrimage area permanently. The true faces of organization, which have Naxal related crimes registered against them, must be exposed. In Raigad District, crimes related to Naxal activities have been registered against ANiS workers. These people are spreading ANiS, Kabir Kala Manch, and pseudo-liberals’ propaganda in the name of Vari. The Government should take strict action against those spreading urban Naxalism.
All the places of pilgrimage must be freed from alcohol and meat similar to Dehu : H.B.P. Nitin Maharaj More
Some people criticize Saints and Maharaj. In the future, if anyone criticizes the Saints and Mahatmas, the Government should take immediate action. Some foreign religious organizations come here and engage in unlawful activities, they should be stopped. The meat and alcohol shops on the route of Palkhi must be kept closed.
Varkaris are capable of giving a befitting reply to those entering the Vari for religious conversions : H.B.P. Narhari Maharaj Chaudhary
Varkari sect is a peaceful sect. If anyone comes to enjoy our company, we will welcome; but if someone comes come for religious conversions, he will be given a befitting reply. The administration should try to stop these things. Pilgrimages are the places for our rituals. Therefore,they should be free from alcohol and meat. During the Vari period, the shops are closed. Instead, they should be closed permanently to preserve the sanctity of such places and for the welfare of society.
Law should be enacted immediate against those who criticize Saints and Mahatmas : H.B.P. Ram Maharaj Kadam
The scriptures of Varkari sect and Saints are criticized and spoke wrongly about. The Government must make a law against this. In this regard, gather 7 Palkhi chiefs and other chiefs of big dindis and hold a meeting again. The Government must make an anti-blasphemy law immediately against those who criticize Saints and Mahatmas.

It is unfortunate that a press conference is required to tell the Government the importance of Indrayani and Alandi. Organizations like ANiS, Kabir Kala Manch, which do not believe in God, deceive Varkaris. They misguide in the name of reform. The Government must stop it, else a mass movement will be launched.

We will continue to strive to expose those who spread casteism in Vari. Those having naxal related crimes registered against them are at the forefront in misguiding the Varkaris. Therefore, the Government should make strict laws regarding pollution, religious conversion, blasphemy etc.
