Chiplun – A dress code (rules and regulations regarding the clothes to be worn in a particular premises) is applicable in schools, hospitals, government offices etc. Similarly, there is an entire science behind the dress code that a devotee must follow to benefit from the divinity in temples. However, the Hindu society has remained deprived of this information for a long time. It is necessary to convey this scriptural knowledge to the Hindus. For this reason, many temples in Maharashtra are in favor of putting up such educative posters in temples. It is very important for temples to feel that there should be an ideal dress code in their temples, asserted Mr Ramesh Shinde, the National Spokesperson of Hindu Janajagruti Samiti.

He was speaking after unveiling educative posters on dress code on the 27th of August, 2023 at the ‘Shri Gramdev Juna Kalbhairav Devasthan Trust’ in the city. H.B.P. Abhay Maharaj Sahasrabuddhe (Trustee, Shri Bhargavaram Parasuram Sanstha) was the other chief guest.

Mr Shinde said, “so far notices on dress code have been installed in 165 temples in Maharashtra. A meeting of state level temple trustees, which included trustees of 377 temples including Ashtavinayak, 5 Jyotirlingas, three and a half Shakthipithas, was held at Jalgaon in February this year to deliberate on the various issues of temples and its trustees”.

Mr Shinde expressed his gratitude unto the Shri Dev Juna Kalbhairav Devasthan Trust for giving him the opportunity to unveil the posters in Hindu Janajagruti Samiti’s birth-land (Ratnagiri). Mr Ramesh Shinde was felicitated on behalf of the temple trust.
