Ahmednagar: A protest march was organized on the occasion of Holi celebrations against anti-Hindu proposed Acts on Black Magic and Taking Over Management of Temples. The march began with garlanding of the statue of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj.

Hindu Janajagruti Samiti (HJS) along with other Hindu organizations has started a campaign against the State Government’s proposal to ban saints and Holy Scriptures under the guise of eradication of Blind Faith. The agitation has spread all over the State. The Govt. is planning to take over 4, 50,000 Hindu temples by passing an Act which excludes 80,000 trusts run by Muslims, Madarssas and churches. HJS is creating awareness among masses about the two Acts and taking Govt. to task as to why there is discrimination among the worship places of Hindus and those belonging to other religions. In the protest march, slogans were raised against the anti-Hindu government.

As the march reached the office of the district collector, the drafts of proposed Acts were set on fire and a representation was submitted to the district collector. He assured the agitators to convey their feelings to the Government. MLAs of Shiv Sena, leaders of BJP, VHP and many Hindu organizations took part in the march.
