Volha, Pune district : A Petition was submitted to the Volha Police Station demanding arrest of M.F. Husain and withdrawal of all his National Awards.
Simultaneously, permission was sought from the Police for Organisation of a Protect Morcha against the painter and a "Jode Mara" (Footwear hitting) campaign on 10th February 2006.
Pune Municipal Corporation : Hindu Activists led by the Hindu Janjagruti Samiti have organised a morcha(a protest rally) against the construction of HAJ HOUSE in Pune. The Imam of the Haj House in Mumbai was arrested due to conspiring with Laskh-E-Toiba, the leading terrorist organisation promoted by Pakistan to subjugate Kashmir and India. This has brought in a lot of controversy over the construction of a new Haj House at Pune. Hindu Janjagruti Samiti has supported the organisations opposing the construction of the Haj House.
A Morcha has been Organised at the Pune Municipal Corporation against the construction of the new Haj House at Pune on 24th February 2006. Corporator Shri Milind Ekbote has taken the initiative in this regard. The Morcha will begin from the Statue of Chatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj at Deccan from 2:30 PM Sharp on the said date.
