Kumbh Mela : One and half crore Hindus took a Holy bath at triveni confluence !

Kumbha Mela begins with fervour !

Prayagaraj (UP) : One and half crore Hindus accrued benefit of first Holy bath in the first auspicious occasion in Kumbh Mela on the auspicious moment of Makar Sankranti. This information is given by Kumbh Mela administration. During the entire day, Hindus crowded the various banks erected on the pious locations of confluence of rivers Ganga, Yamuna, and Saraswati, and river Ganga. Along with them, devotees in 5 Akhadas arrived barefooted at 3.00 a.m. in the low temperature of 8 degrees Celsius and performed worship and took a bath with full of bhav.
 
The Holy bath by various Akhadas on the first auspicious occasion of Kumbh Mela, as per the tradition started little late than planned in the first hour of the morning. The first Holy bath was taken by Maha Nirvani and Atal Akhadas. In this way, the Holy bath by the rest of the Akhadas was to be continued one after the another till the evening hours.

Record crowd expected on tithis of Mouni Amavasya and Vasant Panchami !

During Kumbh Mela, Mouni Amavasya falls on 10th February and Vasant Panchami on 15th February. Record crowd is expected on these tithis (Lunar days) for taking a Holy bath. Prominent Saints remain expressly present on this auspicious occasion. Therefore, a large number of devotees gather to acquire double benefit of sighting these prominent Saints and taking a Holy bath in their company.
