#GoaInquisition and #Stop_Conversions trends as Hindus recount atrocities by Missionaries

Today is 30 May and this day is celebrated as Goa Rajya Din or Goa Day as Goa attained statehood on this day. On this occasion, Hindus took to Twitter to speak out against the Goa Inquisition by Missionaries backed by Portuguese kings and how Hindus and other were brutalised for not accepting Christianity or for ‘disobeying’ Jesuits and Padris. Hindus also demanded top stop conversion of Hindus by missionaries using deceptive methods now-a-days.

The hashtag #Stop_Conversions reached on 4th spot in top 10 national trends on Twitter in India for brief period of time. It was there on 5th spot for few hours. Another related hashtags like #GoaInquisition and keywords such as ‘Francis Xavier’, ‘Goa Inquisition’, ‘Portuguese’ and ‘Christianity’ were also in top 20 trends in India for some time. More than 50,000 tweets were tweeted using above mentioned hashtags and keywords.
