Hindu Janajagruti Samiti’s memorandum to Municipal Corporation, Amravati demanding the immersion of Ganesh Idols according to Dahrmashastra (Science of Dharma)

Amravati (Maharashtra): A memorandum stating that the immersion of Ganesh Idols be done in the sea, lakes or natural sources of flowing water, was handed over recently to the Deputy Commissioner of Municipal Corporation at Amravati, on behalf of Hindu Janajagruti Samiti (HJS). The Corporation makes arrangement for the immersion of the idols by constructing tanks (unnatural source) for the last few years. But that kind of immersion amounts to ridiculing the Deity which hurt the feelings of proud Hindus. The same thing is being stated in the memorandum.

According to the Dharmashastra, if the idols are immersed in flowing water then all are benefited by that. The memorandum includes reports submitted by various experts like Mr. Amit Naregalkar, Officer in charge of ‘Srushti Eco Research Institute’, Mr. Jayesh Ramesh Vartak, Ex. Scientist of Pollution Control Board, Maharashtra, Dr. Vishvambhar Chowdhari, President of ‘Oasis Environmental Consultant’, Pune,  and Mr. Ajay Vaishampayan, Environmentalist, fighting against water pollution.

Mr. Kiran Duse, Mr. Amol Wankhede, Mr. Akash Chikhalkar, Mr. Raju Dakhode, Mr. Narendra Srirao, Mr. Sagar Barde, Mr. Pramod Pachkhede, Mrs. Smita Thakre, and others were present while submitting the memorandum.
