Citizens should not use plastic national flags : Appeals PCMC Health dept

Health Dept of PCMC makes appeal after receiving representation from HJS

Pimpri-Chinchwad : State Government has passed law imposing ban on use of plastic. Sale and use of plastic national flags is therefore, an offence under this law; so plastic flags should not be used was the appeal made by Health Department of Pimpri-Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (PCMC). PCMC has also made arrangements for penalizing in case of breach of this law. On 1st August, under its drive of maintianing honour of national flag, Hindu Janajagruti Samiti (HJS) submitted representation to PCMC Commissioner Shravan Hardikar and Mayor Rahul Jadhav. PCMC’s health officer Dr. K. Anil Roy has stated in his appeal, ‘Under the provisions of Prevention of Insult to National Honour Act 1971,  any kind of insult to national flag is a criminal offence. Citizens should pay due respect to national flags and flags made with plastic should not be used.’
