Pimpri : India opted for democratic governance after independence; but is there democracy in true sense in this country ? Corruption, chaotic systems have crossed all limits. Under such system, corrupt Lalu Prasad Yadav involved in scam of millions of rupees gets punished after 21 years; whereas in one Court, case of a thief stealing cell phone is disposed of immediately. Offenders are not afraid of law and punishment. In such situation, Right to Information (RTI) Act is an effective medium for keeping curb on governments’ systems. It should be properly used. The above opinion was expressed by advocate Nilesh Sangolkar. Work-shop on RTI was held for pro-Hindu activists on 16th May under ‘Hindu Rashtra-jagruti Abhiyan’ on the occasion of birthday celebrations of ‘Paratpar Guru’ Dr. Athavale. Advocate Sangolkar addressed the participants.

Advocate Sangolkar also explained, in detail, precaution to be taken while making application, manner of filling up the application under RTI. He said that when information is sought after studying the issue properly, it creates awe amongst government employees and they promptly give information.
