HJS new movement – ‘Ganesha devotees, buy only ‘sattvik’ idol of Sri Ganesha

Mumbai (Maharashtra) : Nowadays, there is a competition among people to make Sri Ganesha idols from paper pulp, trash and ‘Plaster of Paris (PoP)’ which are not ‘sattvik’ and are quite big in size. This reduces the sanctity of the festival and increases ‘Raja/Tama’ components in the atmosphere. When the Nation and Dharma are engulfed with calamities, devotees are not able to gain the grace of Lord Ganesha. Hindu Janajagruti Samiti (HJS) will, therefore, be undertaking a movement to prevent this in the next year and has made an appeal to devotees to get a ‘sattvik’ idol of Sree Ganesha. Media, local ‘swarajya’ sanstha and various establishments have assured to help in this drive. More than 25 sculptors from Pen (Dist. Raigad) and Pune have shown their readiness to make such ‘sattvik’ and pollution-free idols. HJS will try to make such idols available for devotees at economical rates. Mr. Shivaji Vatkar, the district-coordinator of HJS for Mumbai, Thane and Raigad has made an appeal to all Ganesha-devotees to take benefit of such ‘sattvik’, pollution-free idols. In the last Ganesha-festival also, HJS made available such ‘sattvik’ and pollution-free idols. This time, it has received great demand for such idols, therefore, HJS met sculptors from Pena and Pune. Some big establishments also showed interest in joining the movement; therefore, the idols will be made available at economical rates, informed Mr. Vatkar.
