Police to be extra-vigilant to protect Diwali forts

Sangali: In Diwali-2004 at Miraj, an untoward incident happened in which the models of fort built by children on the occasion of Diwali were destroyed. In this background, Shri Dilip Katake, the Dy. Superintendent of Police, (Home Dept.) assured while talking to reporter of ‘Dainik Sanatan Prabhat’ that police patrolling will be increased during the period of Diwali to protect the models of forts built by children. Further, all police stations will be instructed to be alert during the period.

During Diwali-2004, models of forts erected by young children were destroyed by Muslim children belonging to the age group of 12-15 years. The incident had created tension. Shri. Pradip Bhosale, the then Police Inspector had promised to take action against the culprits but no action was taken. Shri. Katake assured that in this Diwali all the precaution would be taken to avoid such unpleasant incidents.
