Kolhapur: On the New Mahadwar Road, two persons (not belonging to Maharashtra) were selling slippers with national flag printed on them. When members of Hindu organizations came to know about it, they obstructed the vendors from selling such footwear and thrashed them.

Police intervened and arrested the two vendors, Safiq Mohammed Jalil and Mohammed Sabir. Both of them hailed from Uttar Pradesh. The two sellers put up a stall on a staircase of another shop belonging to one Muner Shaikh. They were selling slippers which had photograph of national flag. When police got the news, they confiscated the goods kept on sale.

Members of Hindu organizations also came to know about it and reached at the site. They asked one of the vendors as to why they were selling such footwear when the other vendor came forward and answered them in a very impolite manner.
