Satara : Hindus submit representations to police against sale of crackers

Representation by ‘Hindutvavadis’ against sale of crackers with pictures of Deities and great national leaders and for taking action against sale of Chinese crackers

Satara : Representation demanding action against sellers of crackers with pictures of Deities- great national leaders and sellers of Chinese crackers was submitted to SP Sandip Patil and Dy. District Collector Bharat Waghmare. Presently, crackers are available in market with pictures of Deities and national leaders. If such crackers are burst, it results in grave denigration of Deities and insult of national leaders. Even large stock of Chinese crackers is found in market for sale. Sou. Rupa Mahadik of HJS demanded that the administration should take action against sellers.

Shri. Dhananjay Khole of ‘Shri Shivapratishthan Hindustan’; Sou. Rupa Mahadik, Shri. Tushar Khot of HJS; Sou. Leelavati Nimbalkar, former municipal councilor and other ‘Hindutvavadis’ were present on the occasion.

It has been stated in the representation that …

1. Office of ‘Udyog Sahasanchalak (MPV)’ has sent a letter to entrepreneurs advising that pictures of Hindu Deities and national leaders should not be printed on crackers and further action be taken in this regard.

2. Under ‘Explosives Act, 2008’, it is a punishable offence to hold and sell explosives made outside India.
